ShinYeon Moon attempts to explore the ephemerality of things found within states of transition. She is interested in objects that have been left behind - questioning its original purpose and its potential for a second chance. Moon seeks to find renewed life for objects that have survived the inevitable factors of time and other external stimuli. She explores the superficial structure of this hollowed entity and the re-inhabitance (or at times invasion) from another entity and how that ultimately creates a new state of being – an alteration that can be seen as having beneficial or negative affects. Moon also attempts to depict periods of evolution when the physical and spiritual state of different beings are undergoing and/or have undergone varied transformations and change. She investigates notions of resilience, stability, and unlikely permanent situations of existence within these fluctuations.
